Automation Mode = OFF on 04/11/2025

Based on the CVIX > 1.0 yesterday (2.30 and one of the highest readings) and Average 5 minute ranges in the 60 handle pre-market, we are recommending Automation Mode = OFF today.

The back-and-forth churn and ranges have literally been off the charts.

On October 31, 2007, the Nasdaq 100 index was 2239.23 and by November 21, 2008 it was at 1018.86. The start of the move was about 17.5 years ago and the index was almost exactly 1/10th from the highs made in February 2025.

What is notable is that the Nasdaq 100 moved 1221 points lower in about 265 trading days. Even though the most recent highs are about 10 times greater than the index at the beginning of the move lower back in 2007, it was able to have recent daily ranges that are between 1000 - 2000 point in the futures. So while the index was 10 times higher, the speed of the movement was 265 times faster.
