The Nasdaq 100 has now logged 21 consecutive trading days where the 5-day average daily range as a percentage of the closing price has remained below 1% — a new record for the 2020s.
The last time we saw a longer streak of such compressed volatility was from October 14, 2019 to January 3, 2020, spanning 57 consecutive sessions.
Periods of sustained low volatility can precede major directional moves — are we due for a breakout?
