Tick Count Trend II v2 Update for 2024

Capstone Trading

Tick Count Trend II v2 1m E-mini S&P is one of our top trading systems for choppy, narrow ranging market conditions. As we move towards 2024 and normalize strategies to work on the continuous futures contract with a custom session instead of the .D symbol, we also review simple strategy adjustments for this strategy.

There are seven basic adjustments: two are data based that don't change the performance, two rules are actually removed, the other three include stop loss, profit targets, and point value expansion for an old strategy that is trading a market whose value has tripled since it was developed.

The following changes include:

1. Change data1 to @ES with US STOCK Custom Session instead of @ES.D

2. Change data3 $VIX.X to 1440 minutes instead of 1 day.

3. Double PTS from 2 to 4 (point value)

4. Remove VIX Filter (must be less than 30)

5. Remove Range Filter (must be less than a point value average range)

6. Increase stop loss from $400 to $1000

7. Increase variable profit target by point value
