Trading System Signals on 09-16-2025

Stock indexes were down about -0.10% today while the VIX climbed a second day in a row to 16.36, up 4.27%. FOMC is tomorrow and everyone assumes there will be a 0.25% cut with two more between now and the end of the year. The VIX seems to be pricing in some volatility. Maybe there will be some profit taking on the news or maybe the Fed will surprise with their policy or policy statement for future cuts.

The Nasdaq 100 futures day session range was only 101.25. When the market makes a bottoming pattern, oftentimes there is "capitulation". The low VIX reading last Friday could be the "capitulation" for the low VIX bull market. The lack of movement in the stock indexes has reached a pretty extreme level with no trades today in the Two System Portfolio NQ.

Hypothetical Trading System Portfolio Signals and Results:

Two System Portfolio NQ = No trades

Stock Index Portfolio 18 = +$280

Stock Index Portfolio 37 = +$355

Diversified Portfolio 57 = +$4,430

Silver Portfolio = +$3,925

The highlight of the day was some long Bitcoin trades with 10 MBT on two strategies as well as a short Silver trade and a long Gold trade.
